Onto Raises $1 Million to Build an AI-Powered Travel Platform
Bengaluru-based travel startup Onto has raised $1 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Stargazer Fund and co-led by Singapore-based White Venture Capital. The company aims to improve the travel experience by helping customers save money even after completing their hotel bookings.
Founded by former Groww professionals Jagdeep Singh and Shubham Goyal, Onto has introduced a feature called Price Drop Refund. It monitors eligible hotel bookings and refunds travellers the price difference if the cost of the same hotel room and dates falls after the reservation. The feature also supports eligible bookings made through other platforms.
The startup plans to use the fresh capital to expand its operations, strengthen its technology infrastructure and develop additional products. It is also working towards an AI-led travel experience that can understand travellers’ preferences, offer relevant recommendations and bring their bookings together in one place.
With its focus on post-booking support, Onto aims to move beyond traditional travel platforms that primarily focus on helping customers complete reservations.
