Neal Thakker Is Simplifying Sourcing For Indian Factories

India’s manufacturing sector depends on reliable access to raw materials, efficient logistics and consistent production processes. Yet, fragmented supply chains and operational challenges can make it difficult for factories to manage these needs efficiently. Neal Thakker, founder and CEO of Magma Group, is building an integrated industrial solutions business to help manufacturers address these challenges.

From Supply Chain Challenges To A Business Opportunity

Thakker founded Magma in 2022 after gaining experience in supply chain management and understanding the difficulties manufacturers face in sourcing materials and managing operations. He saw an opportunity to support factories beyond individual transactions by bringing essential industrial services together under one platform.

The company began by helping manufacturers access raw materials and supply chain services. Its approach was built around a practical need: giving factories greater reliability, improving coordination and helping them operate more efficiently. Over time, Magma expanded beyond materials procurement into engineering, waste management and other industrial solutions.

Building An Integrated Platform For Manufacturing

Magma works with manufacturers across multiple industries, helping them manage essential requirements throughout their operations. Its offerings include advanced industrial materials, precision engineering, recycled-material solutions, waste management and digital tools for coordinating factory orders.

Rather than operating solely as a marketplace, the company aims to become a long-term operational partner for manufacturers. By connecting procurement, logistics and other industrial services, it seeks to reduce fragmentation and improve visibility across supply chains.

Its digital order management solutions also help businesses centralise supply orders, monitor delivery timelines and coordinate activities more effectively. This can reduce manual follow-ups and give manufacturers better control over the movement of materials.

Connecting Manufacturing With Sustainability

Another part of Magma’s business focuses on making industrial waste more useful. Through its Magma Green vertical, the company works on waste recovery and recycled-material solutions that help manufacturers incorporate recovered resources into industrial supply chains.

This approach connects operational efficiency with resource utilisation. By improving how materials are sourced, tracked and recovered, Magma aims to help businesses manage costs while supporting more circular manufacturing practices.

The company also works across energy, logistics and engineering requirements, reflecting its broader ambition to support factories across multiple stages of their operations.

Scaling Its Industrial Network

Magma has reported serving more than 200 active factories across India, with customers spanning industrial materials, manufacturing and related sectors. In April 2025, the company announced a $5 million Series A funding round led by Capria Ventures, with participation from existing and new investors. The funding was intended to support core operations, backward integration and technology development.

In October 2026, the company also reported signing letters of intent worth more than ₹800 crore across its industrial businesses, signalling demand for its solutions. The value of these agreements represents a pipeline rather than completed revenue.

A Broader Vision For Indian Manufacturing

Neal Thakker’s approach centres on solving the operational problems that affect factories every day. By combining materials sourcing, engineering, digital coordination and circular solutions, Magma is working to make industrial operations more connected and reliable.

As India’s manufacturing ecosystem grows, businesses that can simplify sourcing and improve supply chain execution may play an important role in helping factories scale. Magma’s next phase will depend on how effectively it expands its network, delivers on its commitments and continues to meet manufacturers’ changing needs.
