How ZeroHarm Sciences Is Advancing Plant-Based Wellness Through Nanotechnology

India’s nutraceutical industry is seeing growing interest in preventive health

care, creating opportunities for businesses that combine traditional plant ingredients with modern scientific research. Hyderabad-based ZeroHarm Sciences is building its business around this intersection, developing plant-based supplements using proprietary nano-formulation technology.

Founded in 2020, the company focuses on a challenge faced by many herbal supplements: how effectively the body absorbs the active ingredients. ZeroHarm uses nanotechnology in its formulations, aiming to improve the bioavailability of plant-derived nutrients and make them more accessible for absorption.

From Agriculture Technology To Preventive Wellness

Founder Sachin Darbarwar brings experience from the agriculture technology sector. Before establishing ZeroHarm Sciences, he founded Simply Fresh, an agritech company focused on technology-driven farming and plant production.

With ZeroHarm, the focus shifted from growing plants to exploring their potential in nutritional wellness. The company has developed an integrated business model covering ingredient extraction, formulation research and development, and manufacturing. This structure allows it to oversee multiple stages of product development rather than relying solely on third-party suppliers.

Its product portfolio spans several wellness categories, including gut health, immunity, joint care, women’s wellness and lifestyle management. The products are available through the company’s website, e-commerce marketplaces and quick-commerce platforms.

Building A Science-Led Supplement Business

One of ZeroHarm’s key differentiators is its focus on nano-formulation. The technology is designed to improve the delivery of plant-based ingredients, although the effectiveness of individual formulations depends on the ingredients, dosage and supporting clinical evidence.

The company has also highlighted a “Trust over Promise” platform, intended to connect supplement use with measurable health outcomes. The initiative reflects a wider industry challenge: helping consumers assess supplement claims through reliable evidence rather than marketing alone.

As demand for wellness products grows, demonstrating product quality and substantiating health claims will remain important for brands competing in this space.

A ₹65 Crore Funding Milestone

In February 2026, ZeroHarm Sciences raised ₹65 crore in a funding round led by Kotak Alternate Asset Managers, through its Kotak Life Sciences Fund I, and Alkemi Growth Capital. Kotak invested ₹40 crore, while Alkemi contributed ₹25 crore.

The company plans to use the capital to strengthen its brand presence in India, expand into international markets including the United States, United Kingdom and Middle East, and scale its research and manufacturing operations.

For ZeroHarm Sciences, the next phase will involve growing its distribution while building consumer trust in science-led, plant-based supplements. Its ability to support its product claims with credible evidence will be an important part of that journey.

As the nutraceutical market evolves, ZeroHarm is positioning itself around a clear proposition: combining plant-derived ingredients with technology and research to develop a modern wellness business.
