Solar Square Secures $53 Million to Power Expansion Across India

Residential solar energy company Solar Square has raised $53 million in a Series C funding round led by B Capital, pushing its valuation close to $500 million. The latest investment brings the company’s total funding to more than $100 million and reinforces growing investor confidence in India’s rapidly expanding clean energy sector.

Existing backers, including Lightspeed, Lowercarbon Capital, Rainmatter, and Good Capital, also participated in the round. As part of the investment, B Capital General Partner Karan Mohla will join Solar Square’s board, further strengthening the company’s strategic leadership.

The fresh capital will support Solar Square’s ambitious growth plans, including expansion into 30 to 40 new cities across India. Currently operating in 25 cities, the company also intends to increase investments in technology, product development, and brand-building initiatives to accelerate customer adoption.

Founded in 2015, Solar Square shifted its focus to residential solar solutions in 2021 and has since emerged as one of the country’s leading rooftop solar providers. The company offers end-to-end services, including system design, installation, financing assistance, and long-term maintenance support. To date, it has installed solar systems in nearly 50,000 homes nationwide.

Solar Square collaborates with several manufacturers for solar equipment procurement, with Premier Energies serving as its primary sourcing partner. The company is also exploring additional partnerships to strengthen its supply chain capabilities.

According to co-founder and CEO Shreya Mishra, Solar Square has surpassed ₹1,000 crore in annual revenue, recording more than 100% year-on-year growth. While residential installations remain its core business, the company also serves select commercial clients, positioning itself at the forefront of India’s transition toward sustainable energy solutions.
