WEH Ventures Announces First Close Of ₹250 Cr Fund III

Seed-stage venture capital firm WEH Ventures has announced the first close of its third fund, Fund III, with a target corpus of ₹250 crore. The firm has not disclosed the amount raised in the first close.

Fund III plans to invest in 20–25 early-stage Indian startups across sectors including advanced manufacturing, agriculture, energy transition, artificial intelligence, healthcare, consumer and fintech. The fund reflects WEH Ventures’ broader focus beyond its earlier software-heavy portfolio, with increased attention on opportunities in the physical economy.

The fund has already started deploying capital and has committed to eight investments spanning advanced agriculture, robotics, healthcare diagnostics, retail and edtech. Some disclosed investments include advanced horticulture startup Fragaria, healthcare-focused Praan Health and sports retailer PlayBlue.

Fund III has attracted participation from family offices, exited founders and senior corporate and technology executives. Its early backers include Nordic fund-of-funds Play Capital, family offices such as Eraya, Twin & Bull Investments and Heritage Investments, along with executives and founders connected to companies including Oziva, GS Labs, Thermax, Haleon and Lenovo.

WEH Ventures expects to complete the final close of Fund III by mid-2027. The firm began investing in 2017 and has backed more than 30 startups, including Smallcase, Jar, Pratilipi, Animall, MasterChow, AppsForBharat, Unbox Robotics and Mitigata.
